The Kimpton Ceramic Bowl is a decorative bowl only. It is not a serving bowl for food use. It is a very heavy ceramic bowl with a mostly glazed finish. There are speckled spots missing the glaze, but that adds to the bowls design. I ended up returning the bowl because I needed a serving bowl for food. It would be lovely for decorative styling on a console, coffee table, or shelf.
