It was packaged so well, that it rolled out perfectly without any creases. Its heavy weight drapes flat against the floor. The weave and pieced squares look first class. I don’t feel it needs a pad; it doesn’t need the extra cushioning and doesn’t slip bc my furniture holds it in place. I love it ❤️

We wanted a rug that adds texture and coziness to our fireplace room but not a color so this jute rug works great for that. The weave is beautiful and unique. The rug is quite soft. Despite a popular opinion that jute rugs are good for high traffic areas, this particular one might not be a good fit - this rug frays and I have to cut frayed pieces off from time to time as there is no way to weave them back (pictures attached). As it is made of natural fibers, it sheds these tiny pieces and your black pants get covered if you sit on the rug. We vacuum it once a week with a non beater bar. I also disagree with one of the reviews that the rug is thick and therefore does not need a rug pad. The rug is thick. However, due to a chunky weave, the rug has quite a bit of movement in it and would slide and change shape if not on a rug pad. Our rug pad kind of keeps that movement to a minimum. Again, it works for our space and I did not pay a full price for it but I would be hesitant about buying another jute rug. Perhaps one with tighter weave might have worked better. If you care more about the look than rug's lifespan, then this rug is pretty and might work just fine for you.
