I had been looking for an antiqued Italian marble mortar and pestle. This one has been absolutely perfect even though it is not vintage. Some wear over the years from use will eventually show and that is exactly what I want. The marble is beautiful with handles and the wooden pestle is light. The pestle does come from a wood that differs slightly from the profile images and mine is a darker hue than the bleached light wood in the image. Overall I am happy and highly recommend this piece for anyone who praises ancient arts in culinary collections.
